My husband and I would never eat in this horrible place again, nor recommend it to any of our friends. We didn't only had to wait for about 15mins until somebody noticed that we haven't been served but the waitress ( I totally believe she's the same person being referred to in the other review below)was so rude!! Her manners in getting our order (like she's being in a hurry), turning her back without saying a word and giving our food like she was ready to throw them on the table. No enjoy your meal, no one bothered to check and ask how are we doing with the food. In the end, we just asked for the bill whic she gave so promptly, again, sans any word or smile. After my husband paid, no thank you, no whatsoever. We were so appalled because we're used to eating in other Vietnamese restos and we've never been treated badly like LemonGrass staff does. Forget this restaurant, the food is mediocre anyway. Go to Thanh Long in 17th Ave, or to Mimosa's in Shawnessy instead!!

WOW! A very clean environment, with a fresh feel to it, the waiters are polite, and very attentive. The food is fabulous, there are large porportions for little money, it is preety authentic, which is why I loke it. Only thing is that they use MSG, but if you ask them not to include it, they wont!! Cant get better food than here.

I love lemongrass near Richmond Rd. The food is great and we've never had a problem when going. As for the 'poor' review that the other person left...the restaurant was CLOSED!!! Who is the rude one??? I'm sure restaurant staff LOVE staying late to clean up after people who couldn't care less that they may want to get home to their families rather than work late...and probably not get paid for staying late too.

Common decency. Courtesy. Respect for your fellow human being. Too much to ask? Yeah, we thought so too. Boy, did we get straightened out real fast on our visit to LemonASS resraurant last night. We are still reeling from the shock and anger at being treated so offensively, so we will attempt to contain our seething rage as we attempt to concisely explain the behaviour we were subjected to, which is, of course, beyond explanation. The night started out with us looking forward to a fun night on the town to celebrate my birthday. My friend had been out of town for my actual birthday, so she wanted to do something special and surprise me with a night out - she wanted to make our dinner destination a surprise, so I had no idea where we were headed until we got there. We drove for half an hour in snowy, icy conditions to end up at Lemongrass West, which my friend had raved about from her previous visit there. Let us emphasize that Vietnamese eateries are a dime a dozen in this city, and there are many up in our neck of the woods. So for us to drive to the other end of the city speaks very highly of what my friend thought of the culinary experience that she had the one other time she had been there.
The night started off on a good note. We showed up at 8.15 and there were only two tables just finishing as we got there. We were seated and proceeded to order our food. We were served fairly shortly and the food was great. Half-way through our meal, our waitress and two other servers working at the restaurant sat down to eat as well. At this point we were the only two people in the restaurant. Our waitress sat eating with her back turned towards us...and never checked on us once after she served us our food. After we finished eating and I was dying of thirst...I kept looking around in a vain attempt to get someone's attention. I realized the ratio of servers to customers was 32 and it must have been a herculean effort for them to manage to serve their one remaining table. Finally, one of the other servers caught my eye and indicated to our waitress that - horror of all horrors...the table she was serving, actually wanted to be served. She got up from her meal and picked up a jug of water and marched towards us. The next 15-20 minutes at the restaurant were just a blur for both of us. We were both blindsided by our servers abject rudeness and indecency.
When she got to our table, she filled our glasses with water and said You better hurry up, we are already closed. I asked her what time they closed, to which she replied 9pm. I then asked her what time it was and she blatantly lied and spat out Its already 9.30. I asked her if we could get some dessert and Vietnamese Tea. She looked irritated and said mockingly, Tea?? You want VIETNAMESE TEA?? You mean, you want a pot of tea?? And we both looked at her in shock and disbelief and said Yes. To which she said, Were already closed, and it would take you a long time to finish drinking the tea. And I would like to add here that the restaurant was in no way even close to being all closed up at that point. The other two servers were still finishing their meals and just starting to clean up. Before she turned away to leave, our server, humiliated us even further by asking us in a derogatory tone, So, you want to pass on the tea? with an expectant air. At that point we were just reeling with shock and anger and somehow managed to say Yes, we would still like our tea and dessert please. I mean we are only paying for our food here, were so very sorry to have inconvenienced you like this. So, our server stomps off and the next thing we heard was her complaining loudly to the kitchen and staff members about us ordering tea. Within 2 minutes the tea and dessert was ready and she came back with them. When we said thanks, she actually muttered hmph, in the manner that a haughty landowner would speak to an indentured servant who had overstepped their boundaries. She looked at me and said I need to close the till. I will bring you the bill. I said Okay. She came back with the bill and literally threw it at me. I settled the bill with a gracious and overly generous tip of $0.00 for her exemplary service, which redefined the meaning of bad service for both of us. After that the night came to a short end. I barely took one bite of the dessert and she came running back to pick up the paid bill and asked All Done? as she was in the process of picking up our uneaten dessert plates and tea-cups. At that time being in no position to even think straight, my friend and I, got up and left the restaurant. We briefly considered saying something to someone, but ALAS! No one would even come near our table to grace us with their presence.
Upon getting to my car, I checked the time and it was only 9.15pm, 15 MINUTES after their official Closing Time. Imagine what the world would be like if we were only expected to treat our fellow human beings with common decency between the hours of 9-9. To this point, my friend and I have no idea what we did to incur the wrath of the Server.
We just want to clarify that although we are writing this in the restaurant review section, the events of last night are the sole responsibility of our waitress. But, the end result was the fact that she completely and totally ruined what was supposed to be a fun and special birthday dinner for my friend. With the wonderful added benefit to them that they will never receive our patronage again, nor that of any of our friends, anyone they tell, or anyone who finds the reviews and recaps of this experience that we plan to saturate the media with. Not only does this individual have any respect for her fellow human being, she also apparently has no respect for the business which pays her salary if she would dare to behave that way to its customers. Speaking to that further, we did call the manager, who, to her credit, genuinely apologized and said she would speak to our server about her attitude.

Needless to say, we are rating this restaurant poor, because there are no options that are lower...
